I have mixed feelings on all of these Flash Sale or Pop-Up websites.
Are you familiar with them? Here are a few of the ones we all know (and if you don’t, you should check them out):
The reason I have a Love-Hate relationship with them is because if I see something for a client that is perfect, the decision needs to be reached quickly. Certainly it is difficult to specify anything from one of these sites on an inspiration board because, well, quite frankly, it might be sold out quickly or the sale may end before a client makes a decision. These sites are great for inspiration, even if you don’t end up with the exact item, it gives everyone an idea of your vision.
Another problem is most have no return policy. They will stand behind their products, and will take care of you if there is anything damaged during shipping. But, you don’t have the option to “audition” items in your own home, and then return them. You need to shop with confidence!
One of the new sites just hitting the mainstream is Dot & Bo. Check them out if you haven’t done so yet.
And then there are the pop-up shops that specialize in vintage items.
I love Chairish. It’s like Craigslist, but all the items are vetted! There’s only
good great stuff! I bet it will expand even further throughout the US, some sellers offer shipping, but most are pickup only. If you have a chance take a look at the site, here.
One Kings Lane now offers vintage items, it’s called Hunters Alley. This site was just recently launched, check it out.

Have fun checking these sites out, they offer fabulous deals, but remember to measure twice and buy confidently!
